Happy New Year to everyone!  Did some end of year shopping at KMart.  Staying tucked in tonight because of the extreme cold weather here.  Going Chinese for dinner. Looking forward to watching the Tournament of Roses parade tomorrow, the plant lover's favorite parade.  Ohio State made it to the Orange Bowl but that's not till Friday. We will still be home for that one.

Hello, 
   It's about time I got here.  I have only been on the Internet since 1994.  I guess I spend more time touring botanic gardens and hanging out in my newly renovated sunroom in MA than I do online, but it's 20 degrees outside here  and what else are you going to do with yourself?  Actually, Spring is here since I received my 2014 Burpee's catalog last week.  I am newly retired, married, mother of two, and a lifetime gardener and plant person. I belong to the Saugus, MA Garden Club, the MA Horticultural Society, Dave's Garden, and get the BBC Gardening magazine, among others, in my snail mail each month.
   Speaking of which, I am about to depart for Costa Rica where I hope their volcano stays nice and quiet during our visit.  Plan to see many plants and trees while there and report back here.
